AC Shadows Unveils Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that challenges traditional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Uncovered
According to the official statement, "An unusual confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying changes reverberate through the darkness." The plot presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine sect.
The mission concentrates on "strange experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Changes
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the captive, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Bonus Features
Players who finish the mission will receive an special katana together with several objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also introduces the game's third free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This humorous adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe introduces a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
